Our Biomass crew has spent last two weeks down in Williamsburg widening interstate 64!
What is Biomass you might ask? Generally, biomass is the burning of biological matter for energy and in this case, wood chips. Our Biomass crew takes in all the wood from the jobs that our tree crew brings back to the shop and puts it through a large wood chipper. The wood chips are then loaded into tractor trailers and hauled to Dominion Power to be burned for electricity.
Here we have moved operations to interstate 64 to help with wood chipping in preparation for the widening of interstate 64 in a 5 mile stretch.
